Brianna Nickell

Pediatric and Adolescent Speech Language Pathologist

Brianna Nickell, MA CCC-SLP graduated from Truman State University in 2017 with a Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She has worked in a variety of pediatric and adult settings including early intervention, outpatient clinics, home-based, inpatient rehab, and acute care. She specializes in speech sound disorders, specifically phonology and childhood apraxia of speech. She is passionate about research and continuing education. She completed Advanced Training in Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) Workshop in 2022, attends the Apraxia Kids Conference each year, and plans to attend the next Apraxia Kids Boot Camp in 2025. In total, she has completed over 100 continuing education hours in speech sound disorders and apraxia of speech alone. Brianna provides apraxia-specific consultation and coaching services for families and therapists in Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa.

Brianna uses a developmental and relationship-first approach with all of her patients. She believes that parents are the experts on their children and should be provided with treatment options so that they can make the decision best suited to their child. Brianna, her husband Brett, and their son Ronan enjoy exploring downtown Kansas City, traveling, and playing at home.
